Puakō Transfer Station Closed Today,
July 16, 2019, at 8:00 a.m.
The Puakō Transfer Station closed today at 8 a.m. This closure is due to unanticipated
staff shortages in the Waimea baseyard.
Residents in the Puakō area may take their household generated refuse to the Waimea
Transfer Station, which is open today between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., or to the West Hawaiʻi
Sanitary Landfill, which is open from 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
The Puakō Transfer Station will reopen on Friday, July 19, 2019, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m.
