Dear Donovan:
Thank you for your letter that arrived on June 6, 2019, regarding your proposal to
expand the Pahoa Skate Park.
I appreciate your suggestions to enlarge the Skate Park. However, at this time
the County's budget for the upcoming year that the County Council just approved does
not include funding for such an expansion. As you can imagine, a project like this would
be costly and would not be feasible as we face more pressing needs.
The Puna area is still grappling with the recovery from last year's Lower East Rift
Zone eruption, and the County must be a wise steward of tax payers' money to help the
community return to normal.
