Dear Kai:
Thank you for your letter that arrived on June 6, 2019, regarding your concerns
about helicopters flying in your neighborhood.
Overflights such as the ones you mentioned are under the jurisdiction of the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is engaged in ongoing conversations with
the helicopter operators regarding noise and other concerns.
Please be aware that the County does not have jurisdiction over aviation.
However, we have brought the parties together to work toward compromise solutions
over helicopter issues. We have noted a reduction in complaints from the public as a
result of these conscientious efforts to communicate and cooperate.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write to me.
