WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 2019 <br />a,t, 51:30 P.M. <br />Pahoa Neighborhood Facility <br />15-3022 Kauhale St. <br />Pahoa, Hawaii 96778 <br />MTA is planning to increase bus service in the Puna District and convert to a hub and spoke system. <br />What this means is: there are two types of routes (spokes) that meet at a central location (hub) where <br />passengers can transfer from one to the other. <br />• The long routes such as Route 40 would run direct from the Pahoa hub to Hilo using large <br />buses. <br />• New circulator routes would travel within communities include: Hawaiian Beaches- Na nawale- <br />Seaview; Hawaiian Paradise Park-Ainaloa-Orchidland. The circulators would use smaller buses <br />and continue throughout the day. <br />Six alternate locations in different parts of Pahoa have been identified for the hub.
