Members Present: (Chair) Patricia Walters Susan Shirachi, Pamela Punihaole, Sam Nagasawa, Laura Tobosa, Byron Yogi. Members Excused; Penny Alcoran, Linda Gonzales County Staff. Nominations and Election of Committee Chair Walters informed the Officers Committee that June is when a. Election of Officers Committee member Susan Shirachi volunteered to be Secretary, but needed to discuss somethings with the Chair before proceeding. Committee member Punihaole and Committee member Nagasawa nominated Linda Gonzales as Chair. Punihaole nominated Penny Alcoran as Vice Chair. The Committee decided Elections will be held at the next meeting. B. Malia Hall informed the Committee that before voting on the motion, that the Committee needs to inform the Mayor. Before any action can be taken to create another committee it must be approved by the Mayor. The Committee decided to draft a letter to the Mayor with that suggestion. Punihaole made a motion to make a recommendation the Mayor about splitting the Committee into East side and West side of the Island. Nagasawa seconded the motion. There were 2 nay, 3 yea and 1 neutral. The motion failed. Discussion and voting were tabled till the next meeting. No Sub -Committee Reports No report by Dr. Kimo Alameda No report by Julie Rawlins.
