Review of existing compensation plan to include discussion and consideration on proposals for adjustments to future salaries of executives and elected officials beginning July 1, 2019. Discussion may include: A. Salary Commission’s Plan, as amended, regarding a schedule concerning J. A. Greenbaum, Nelson H. Harano, James W. Higgins, Florence K. Ikeda, Benson P. Medina, Milton Pavao, P. E. Members Hawai‘i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. The objective of the Plan is to secure the best available information toward considering and deciding on possible future salary adjustments by consulting and inviting the various County departments and board/commission representatives, including input and available information by the Department of Human Resources. B. Update by Human Resources Director William V. Brilhante, Jr., concerning collective bargaining agreements. Postponed: March 7 and May 16, 2019 C. Executive Salary Jurisdiction Comparisons: Compares the salaries comprising of similar positions between the various state departments, City and County of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi County, Maui County, and Kauaʻi County (as of July 26, 2019). D. Briefing by Human Resources Director William V. Brilhante, Jr., concerning the State’s Executive Pay Plan (sets forth a pay schedule for salary increases for the legislative and executive branches). E. Briefing by Human Resources Director William V. Brilhante, Jr., concerning salaries and compensation packages of the private sector businesses in Hawaiʻi, which may include economic growth projections and current businesses in operation. F. General discussion concerning salary inversions, which may include lump sum payments, payments to the Employee Retirement System (ERS), and calculations/percentages for the next few years regarding anticipated wages/salaries, ERS, and benefits.
