BY THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
REVISING ADMINISTRATIVE RULES
RELATING TO THE VEHICLE REGISTRATION & LICENSING DIVISION
Pursuant to Chapter 91 of the Hawai'i Revised Statutes, the Department of Finance proposes to
revise the Rules and Regulations relating to the Administration of the Highway Safety Act,
Administration of the Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act, for Staggering Motor Vehicle
Registration, Motor Vehicle Dealer Plates & Temporary Motor Vehicle Plates, Permanent Registration of
Fleet Vehicles, and to Used Motor Vehicle Part and Accessories.
A public hearing solely for the purpose of taking public testimony on the proposed revision will
be held on:
DATE: Tuesday, October 1, 2019
TIME: 9:00 a.m.
PLACE: County of Hawai'i Aupuni Center Conference Room
101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, HI 96720
All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing to state their views regarding the proposed
revisions either orally or in writing. Written testimony may be submitted by mail or fax (961-8569) to
Ms. Deanna S. Sako, Department of Finance, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, HI 96720, provided it is received by
4:30 p.m. on October 1, 2019. All written and oral submissions shall be fully considered and included in
the record of the hearing.
Draft revisions are available for viewing and printing from the County website at
http:/www.hawaiicounty.gov/finance/.
Copies of the proposed rules amendments are also available at the Department of Finance, 25 Aupuni
Street, Suite 2103, Hilo, Hawai'i, or by mail before the hearing, upon request. Cost of copies of S 1.00 for
the first page and 5.10 for each additional page. Copies may be mailed to interested persons after
payment of fees for copy and postage are received. Please call 961-8234 to request copies.
The meeting room is accessible to persons with disabilities. If special accommodation for the public
hearing are needed, please make all requests at least ten (10) business days prior to the hearing by calling
961-8234.
