Dear Mayor Miyawaki:
Thank you very much for your letter of July 26, 2019 inviting me to attend the
celebrations to mark the 15th Anniversary of the merger of the towns of Hawai, Togo
and Tomari.
I sincerely regret that I will be unable to accept your kind invitation because of my duties
here in Hilo. All of us wish you a most enjoyable and memorable event, and I am sure
that Mr. Donn Mende of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry will
represent Hawaii County's people very well.
We cherish our time-honored Sister City relationship with Yurihama-cho, and you are
always welcome to Hawaii Island as our dear friends.
We look forward to the next opportunity to see you all again.
Once again, I thank you very much indeed for your kind invitation, and for your
friendship.
