KONA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN ACTION COMMITTEE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Kona Action
Committee in accordance with the provisions of Section 92-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: Members of the public are invited to speak to any items
on the agenda. With discretion of the Chair of the CDP Action Committee, comments may be made
either during the public comment portion of the agenda or during the relevant business item, and
may be limited to three (3) minutes in length per agenda item. For our records, please fill out a
yellow request form and submit it to Planning Department Staff or the Action Committee
Chairperson prior to the Public Comment portion of the meeting.
BUSINESS:
1. Draft General Plan Mini Speakout Event: Draft General Plan Mini Speakout Event:
Members of the Long Range Planning Division will provide an overview of the draft General
Plan Comprehensive Review through informational boards that highlight various parts of the
plan. This event will highlight considerations from the Draft General Plan that are the most
relevant issues for the region.
Attendees will participate in a mini Speakout workshop to explore key sections of the draft
in a similar process to the larger public Speakouts that took place this August. During the
workshop portion of the meeting, attending members of the public will have an opportunity
for questions, discussion, and providing feedback on the key sections of the draft being
presented. All public input will be documented and compiled to help inform the final stage
of finalizing the Draft General Plan.

ADJOURNMENT: The meeting will adjourn at the closing of the Draft General Plan Mini
Speakout Event at 8:00 PM.
NOTICE: The purpose of the public hearings is to afford all interested persons a reasonable
opportunity to be heard on the above items. According to the Operating Guidelines of the
Community Development Plan Action Committee, a person desiring to submit oral or written
testimony shall indicate her/his name and whether the testimony is her/his behalf or as a
representative of an organization or individual. Written testimony shall be submitted with an
original and nine copies prior to testifying. The Committee would appreciate timely submittal to
the Planning Department at least one week prior to the meeting date to allow for mailing and
thorough Committee review.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable modification, or language
interpretation to access this meeting please contact the Planning Department at (808) 961-8288 as
soon as possible, but no later than five working days prior to the meeting date, to arrange for
accommodations. "Other reasonable modification" refers to communication methods or devices for
people with disabilities who are mentally and/or physically challenged.
If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a
lobbyist. (Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawai'i County Code). A lobbyist means, "any individual
engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in
any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action
by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." (Article 15, Section 2-
91.3(a)(6), Hawai'i County Code). Registration forms and expenditure report documents are
available at the Office of the County Clerk -Council, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
