ROLL CALL PRESENT Farrah -Marie Gomes, Chair Kami Bolster, Vice -Chair Mele Spencer, Corresponding Secretary Mihaela Ryer, Recording Secretary Andrew Langtry, Treasurer Brooke Derby Jewel Castro Debra M. Toledo-Ebreo Diana Mellon -Lacey, Corp. Counsel EXCUSED Cyd Hoffeld, ex -officio III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Kami motioned to approve the agenda, Jewel seconded. Motion passed. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (June 19, 2019) Mele motioned to approve minutes, Kami seconded. Motion passed. V. TREASURER'S REPORT A. May and June financials Only June financials available. Invoice from Friends of the Future does not show up in the current financial statement from Grant although Lisa acknowledged receipt of invoice from Friends of Future in the amount of $500. Invoice in the amount of $333 for equal pay ads was sent out to be paid before end of June. These two expenses do not appear to be reflected in the financial statement received from Grant. Action item: Jewel to inform Grant about above missing items, and that we have new Chair and new Treasurer who should be copied on the financial statement email. B. 2019-2020 budget approval Nothing was sent from Grant for the new fiscal year. Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer Action item: Jewel to ask Grant to send the new approved budget to Farrah and Andy and what the process is for modifying the budget in the future. VI. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC None VII. CORRESPONDENCE No statement VIII. REPORTS A. HSCSW liaison report No report from HSCSW because they have not met. NACW conference next week, Cyd will be attending. IX. OLD BUSINESS A. Teen Dating Violence Subcommittee needs to meet and provide update next month. Kami is interested in joining the subcommittee. Action item: Farrah will add subcommittee composition on next month agenda B. Real Women Essay Contest • Update on article for 2019 event No update from Lee -Ann. Kami and Mele will compose a draft of an arti- cle and provide for review at the next meeting • Update on partnering with KNKR 96.1 "Women's Voices" Radio Show to showcase Essay Contest Winners Radio stations are ready to go whenever we are. We need permission to read essays on air. Brooke proposed to add requesting permission for next year event. Action item: Subcommittee and Brooke will work out the details and bring back at the next meeting C. Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum No substantial report. Several members on leadership team will meet with Susan Maddox of Friends of the Future to finalize budget figures so programming for 2019 and 2020 events can begin. D. CSW Brochure Committee reviewed most recent draft of the brochure. Andrew suggested to modify "2019 members "to "2019-2020". Farrah asked to add a picture of distribu- tion of Urgent services directory. Add electronic link or a QR code to the directory to the brochure. Action item: Mele will follow up with YWCA to ensure the brochure will be displayed on their website. E Action item: Kami will take a picture of distribution of Urgent Services directory at the Alzheimers public event on July 27 and send to Mihaela to add to brochure. Action item: Brooke to ask Lisa the cost estimates for 500 and 1000 quantity (paper, printing and folding) and bring back to the next meeting E. Family Services Directory Mele created a tracking log. The following were distributed: • Farrah - 100 UHH divisions for student affairs in July 2019 • Kami - 25 Public health nurse, Kealakekua in July 2019 • Debra - 300 Hamakua Health Center in July 2019, 467 to school supply giveaway Kohala District in July 2019, 500 to Waimea district in school supply giveaway in July 2019 • Jewel - 50 at Pride event June 2019, 30 at Mercy Day event in June 2019 • Mihaela - 100 to YWCA in June 2019 • Mele - 500 YMCA in June 2019, 200 YWCA in June 2019, 300 Child and Family Services in July 2019, 200 Trillion Birthing Services July 2019, 200 Going Home Consortium July 2019, 300 Child and Family Services July 2019 F. Human Trafficking Julie Mower (Acting Director, Center for Community Engagement UHH) will set up a meeting with Dr. Ron Gordon (Professor of Communication) and Raina San- tos (Senior student at UHH) to discuss collaboration with CSW on this project. Af- ter this meeting they will arrange a meeting with CSW HT subcommittee to build a collaboration plan G. Equal Pay Per Jewel, CSW paid for our portion of the equal pay ads, but i tis not reflected in budget update from Grant. Grant is working with Resonate Hawaii to get them compliant to be able to pay them. We missed the deadline for the HSCSW to process payment. Action item: Subcommittee to work with radio stations to get process in place. X. NEW BUSINESS A. New Programs + New Projects • Form subcommittee to work on Hawaii Island Status of Women report Subcommittee. Mele moved to form the Status of women report subcom- mittee with Mihaela Ryer and Farrah -Marie Gomes as members. Kami seconded. Motion approved. • Form committee to review and make recommendations to CSW Operat- ing Guidelines. Mihaela moved to form subcommittee to review operating guidelines with Mele Spencer, Andrew Langtry and Brooke Derby as members. Kami seconded. Motion approved. XI. ADJOURNMENT Jewel motioned to adjourn. Deb seconded. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 10:48. Next meeting will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the North Hawaii Education and Research Center in Honokaa at 10am. 3
