ROLL CALL PRESENT Farrah -Marie Gomes, Chair Kami Bolster, Vice -Chair Mele Spencer, Corresponding Secretary Andrew Langtry, Treasurer Brooke Derby Diana Mellon -Lacey, Corp. Counsel III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA EXCUSED Debra M. Toledo-Ebreo Jewel Castro Cyd Hoffeld, ex -officio Kami motioned to approve the agenda; Brooke seconded. Motion carried. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (November 20, 2019) Brooke motioned to approve the minutes; Kami seconded. Motion carried. V. TREASURER'S REPORT A. November financials deferred. B. Andrew reported that the 2020-2021 budget was summited to Grant. Andrew also announced that Grant (accountant) will be leaving the department on 12/30/19 and Nicole will be replacing him. Action item: Andrew will follow up with Lisa on brochure cost. VI. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC - None VII. CORRESPONDENCE Hawai'i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer A. Email relating to Women's March on January 19, 2020 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Mo'oheau Park. Vote on position can be discussed at next CSW meeting on January 15, 2020. Action item: Farrah to check with Mihaela to see if she is available to set up a booth; if so Kami can join her. Vote to take place next month. B. Ho'ola Na Pua, "Shining the Light on Sex Trafficking in Hawaii," on January 6, 2020 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lumi Pahiahia, Hale'olelo, UH Hilo, 113 Nowelo Street. Registration Required. See email forwarded to all CSW members. C. Email forwarded from Zonta International, USA Caucus, sharing a link on Human Trafficking and Bazzel Baz, former CIA Intelligence Special Operations Group Paramilitary Case Officer. D. One entry received for Real Woman Essay Contest. VIII. REPORTS A. HSCSW liaison report - Farrah presented Cyd's report: The HSCSW last met on Friday, November 1, 2019, in Honolulu, Hawai'i, and these are some of the items covered during that meeting: • Stacey Moniz was welcomed as the new Maui Commissioner in Leslie Wil- kins former seat • Proposed legislation and Women's Coalition (WC) Wish List will be submit- ted to the Women's Legislative Caucus • Special project proposal was made to create bus ads like previous #ShelsAllWomen campaign for statewide distribution • Proposed screening of "Wind River" at law school with panel on missing and murdered indigenous women and girls was made. Screening opportunities offered to Neighbor Island CSW Committees • HSCSW intern Nichole continues to work on Survivor Problem Solving Pro- ject • Third part of sex trafficking report with partners ASU and CFS in drafting process and will be published in a few months date TBD • Annual Women's Conference is being planned by HSCSW for mid to late 2020: 1) Travel scholarships will be offered to 2 reps from each Neighbor Is- land CSW. 2) Suggested topics are being gathered and are welcomed. 3) Locations on O'ahu are being explored. 4) Attendee size 80-85. 5) Date TBD • HSCSW can assist financially with Hawaii County CSW NACW Women's Voices project The next HSCSW meeting is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2020. B. FVIC Next meeting is on January 6, 2020 in Hilo. Farrah to attend. No one will attend the Kona meeting due to schedule conflicts. E IX. OLD BUSINESS A. Teen Dating Violence • Update on status — no report. Action Item: Mele to send the rationale, card pdf, and request for expenditure to Farrah for forwarding to Lisa. B. Real Women Essay Contest • Andrew motioned to approve the press release for 2020 Event and Kami seconded. Article was approved with a change to the title: "2020 Real Woman Creative Writing Competition Upcoming Deadline Announced." • Deadline for entries is January 17, 2020. Action Item: Farrah to: 1) send to Big Island Now, HTH, WHT, and radio stations. Action Item: Need to decide on date for 2020 Award Luncheon so we can send out RFP. C. Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum • To remove from agenda until further updates are available. D. CSW Brochure • Andrew motioned to approve printing of CSW Brochure on glossy paper for a sum not to exceed $150 and Brooke seconded. Motion passed. E. Family Services Directory • Tracking log — updated distribution Action Item: Farrah to call Jewel & Debra for balance of directories. F. Human Trafficking • Update on status - None G. Equal Pay • 2018-2019 Final Report still pending from Jewel • Equal Pay date is either March 31St or February 11th depending on source. H. Status of Women Report Sub -Committee Update • Update on status - None X. NEW BUSINESS A. The 2020 meeting schedule was sent out to all committee members. XI. ADJOURNMENT Kami motioned to adjourn the meeting, and Brooke seconded. Motion passed and the meeting was adjourned at 10:47 a.m. 3
