Solid Waste Service Closures Today, January 8, 2020 due to Facilities Reaching Maximum
Capacity:
• Pāhoa White Goods and Scrap Metal Services
• Hilo White Goods and Scrap Metal Services
Pāhoa White Goods and Scrap Metal. The Pāhoa Transfer Station’s White Goods and Scrap
Metal services are closed today, as they have reached the maximum storage capacity allowed
by the State Department of Health. Services are scheduled to reopen once permit compliance
has been met.
Hilo White Goods and Scrap Metal. The Hilo Transfer Station’s White Goods and Scrap
Metal services are closed today, as they have reached the maximum storage capacity allowed
by the State Department of Health. Services are scheduled to reopen once permit compliance
has been met.
Residents are asked to hold on to their material until our sites start accepting these
commodities. The County will continue its ongoing efforts to mitigate the materials on hand to
allow for future acceptance.
