This is a Civil Defense message.
This is a High Wind informational update for Sunday afternoon, February 9.
The National Weather Service has issued a High wind Warning for Hawaii Island
Summits (above 8,000 feet) through Tuesday morning. Travel to the summits is not
advised.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Wind Advisory for the rest of Hawaii
Island beginning midnight through Monday evening.
A Wind Advisory means sustained winds of at least 30 MPH or gusts of at least 50 MPH
are expected.
Due to the potential impacts of High Wind, please tie down loose objects or move
them indoors before sundown.
Be aware of the following conditions Monday morning:
• Roadways may be blocked by downed trees and other debris.
• Utility lines maybe damaged leading to outages.
Stay tuned to your radio for updates and changes in conditions.
Thank you for listening.
This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency.
..:.... ..i.%c.a. ..:.g. v.. -..a
