MEETING MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER

III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Revised agenda (addition of item 8c) provided. Brooke motioned to approve revised
January agenda, Mele seconded. Motion carried.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (December 18, 2019)
Mihaela Ryer name needs to be added under excused. Mele moved to approve the
December minutes with amendment, Brooke seconded. Motion carried.
V. TREASURER'S REPORT
A. November financials
Mileage of $155. Pending charge of $50 for brochure. We need to confirm what
this charge is for. New brochures charge is $47.10.
See handout from Andrew for additional details.
B. December financials — no activity
Debra moved to approve The Treasurer's report, Brooke seconded. Motion carried.
VI. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
None

VII. CORRESPONDENCE
We received correspondence from the State CSW informing us that the HSCSW is
planning an inaugural conference for summer 2020. The goal is to develop vision
and goals for next financial year. Khara asked what our top three priorities for the
next fiscal year are. See HSCSW report below for more info.
Save the Date - National Association for Commissions of Women (NACW) annual
conference will be held July 19-27 in Virginia.
Women's March was informed by Mihaela that CSW is not available to participate
with a table at the event this year.
VIII. REPORTS
A. HSCSW liaison report
No formal report.
The following will be shared with the HSCSW - Domestic Violence, Gender and
Wage Gap (Equal Pay), and Human Trafficking. Additionally, we will be requesting
access to databases or sources of info about the status of women (education attain-
ment, earnings, access to healthcare, etc.) across the state where it can be sorted by
county. Andrew moved to send the above four items to the HSCSW. Mele seconded.
Motion carried.
B. FVIC
Farrah attended the January 6 meeting in Hilo. CSW members received the meeting
minutes and documents for that meeting from Allen Bartolome. The next meeting is
on February 3,d. Mihaela Ryer will attend.
C. Prosecutors Six Month Program Objectives FY 2019-20
On January 3, we received mid -year report template from Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney. We were asked to provide updates for activities pertaining to current fiscal
year by January 8. Since our next meeting wasn't until January 15, we received an
extension to January 15.
Members discussed updates. Mihaela moved to give Farrah authority to update the
document with items discussed in the meeting and provide to the Prosecutor Office
and CSW members. Mele seconded. Motion carried.
IX. OLD BUSINESS
A. Teen Dating Violence
Action item: Mele to provide update to Farrah before next meeting

B. Real Women Essay Contest
• Deadline for essay entries is this Friday
• First preference for date of the luncheon will be April 26, 2020
• Farrah will send quote request info to Lisa
Action item: Farrah will contact Cyd regarding the McDonalds sponsorship
C. CSW Brochure
• We received 471 brochures printed on glossy paper. Goal is to distribute
these brochures in the next 90 days.
D. Family Services Directory
• Tracking log — no updates
E. Human Trafficking
• Received 19 packets, 25 11 x17 posters each. Goal is to distribute island
wide over the next 6 months.
F. Equal Pay
• 2018-2019 Final Report — not received yet
Action item: Jewel to provide report at February meeting
G. Status of Women Report Sub -Committee Update
• Mihaela presented the updated report with charts made using data from
the Census Bureau on the following topics:
• Women's earnings
• Gender wage gap
• Women's educational attainment
• Poverty and economic security
• Mihaela and Farrah, as subcommittee members, will meet and discuss
path forward towards the October 2020 completion of the report.
X. NEW BUSINESS
A. Vote on participation in Women's March event — not needed, see VII above.
B. Approval of 2019-2020 budget adjustments — no adjustments to be voted on
Action item: Nominate and vote for subcommittee members.
Action item: Provide an updated subcommittee members list.

Brooke motioned to adjourn. Mele seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 11:16am.
