This is a Coronavirus, also referred to as COVID-19, informational update for Saturday, February 15 at 9:00 in the morning. The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of COVID-19 reported in Hawaii at this time. Regarding yesterday's report of a visitor to Maui and Oahu testing positive for COVID-19 upon returning to Japan, the Department of Health confirms that he did not travel to Hawaii Island. The investigation is ongoing to determine his exact itinerary and people he may have come into contact with. AS A REMINDER: There are no specific antiviral treatments or vaccines to prevent COVID-19. The best way to prevent any respiratory illness including the flu and COVID-19 is to practice everyday preventive actions, which includes staying home when you are sick.
