This is a Civil Defense message.
This is a Coronavirus, also referred to as COVID-19, informational update for Sunday,
February 16 at 10:00 in the morning.
The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of COVID-19 reported in
Hawaii at this time.
The following Department of Transportation policies remain in effect:
• The U.S. Department of State continues to advise U.S. citizens to not travel to
China.
• The only individuals allowed into the U.S. from China are U.S. citizens and will
undergo a mandatory quarantine.
As previously reported, the Department of Health continues to gather facts and
interview individuals related to the Japanese visitor that was confirmed to have COVID-
19. The Department of Health confirms that the individual did not travel to Hawaii
Island. At this time, no individuals with prolonged close contact have been identified
in Hawaii. The Department of Health, along with state, federal, and international
partners, continues to investigate this case.
AS A REMINDER:
There are no specific antiviral treatments or vaccines to prevent COVID-19. The best
way to prevent any respiratory illness, including the flu and COVID-19, is to practice
everyday preventive actions. For a complete list of all recommended preventive
measures, please visit the Department of Health website.
Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about COVID-19. Make sure your
information is up-to-date and comes from a credible source. Misinformation can do so
