CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY <br />MEDIA UPDATE <br />Incident: Coronavirus -19 Update Message <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />Date: February 19, 2020 <br />Time: 11:00 am <br />Frequency: Every 3 hours <br />Update #: 1 <br />This is a Coronavirus -19 informational update for Wednesday, February 19 at 11:00 in the <br />morning. <br />The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of Coronavirus -19 reported in <br />Hawaii at this time. Regarding the Japanese visitor who tested positive for Coronavirus -19, at <br />this time, no individuals with prolonged close contact have been identified in Hawaii. Casual <br />contacts are not at risk have been interviewed and are not in need of monitoring. The <br />Department of Health confirms that the individual did not travel to Hawaii Island. <br />The following transportation policies remain in effect: <br />• The U.S. Department of State continues to advise U.S. citizens to not travel to China. <br />• The U.S. temporary entry ban of foreign nationals who have traveled in China remains in <br />effect. <br />• And, mandatory quarantine of U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. from China also <br />remains in effect. <br />AS A REMINDER: <br />• Travelers returning from China should stay at home and monitor their health for <br />fourteen days from the time they left China. If you become ill, stay at home and contact <br />the Department of Health and a health care provider immediately and indicate your <br />recent travel to China. <br />Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about Coronavirus -19. Make sure your <br />information is up-to-date and comes from a credible source.
