Incident: Coronavirus -19 Update Message

This is a Coronavirus -19 informational update for Friday, February 21 at 9:00 in the morning.
The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of Coronavirus -19 reported in
Hawaii at this time.
The following transportation policies are in effect:
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued precautions for traveling to Japan
and Hong Kong.
• The U.S. Department of State continues to advise U.S. citizens to not travel to China.
• The U.S. temporary entry ban of foreign nationals who have traveled to China in the last
14 days remains in effect.
• And, isolation/quarantine policies for U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. from China also
remain in effect.
There are No Department of Health Advisories to the general public at this time.
AS A REMINDER:
The DOH reminds the public that there are no specific antiviral treatments or vaccines to
prevent Coronavirus -19. The best way to prevent any respiratory illness including the flu and
Coronavirus -19 is to practice everyday preventive actions that include:
• Stay home when you are sick
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick
Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about Coronavirus -19. Make sure your
information is up-to-date and comes from a credible source. For more information regarding
Coronavirus -19, visit:
• Department of Health website at www.health.hawaii.gov or,
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov.
• You may also call the Department of Health at 974-6001 or after-hours at 211.
