This is a Civil Defense message.
This is a Coronavirus informational update for Sunday, February 23 at 6:00 in the evening.
The following is a Department of Health Update:
• The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of Coronavirus reported in the State of
Hawaii.
• The Department of Health has no Health Advisories for the State of Hawaii at this time.
The following National travel policies are in effect:
• For travel to Japan and South Korea, the U.S. State Department has issued a travel advisory to be
aware of a heightened risk to your health and safety. The Advisory recommends that for certain high
risk groups (older adults and those with chronic medical conditions), postponing of non-essential travel
should be discussed with a healthcare provider.
• The U.S. State Department Travel Advisory continues for U.S. Citizens prohibiting travel to China.
• Quarantine policies for U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. from China remain.
AS A REMINDER:
The best way to prevent any respiratory illness including the flu and Coronavirus is to practice everyday
preventive actions to include:
• Staying home when you are sick.
• Take extra measures to keep your hands clean.
• Practice cough and sneeze etiquette (maintain distance, cover coughs and sneezes).
Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about Coronavirus. Make sure your information is up-to-
date and comes from a credible source. For more information regarding Coronavirus, visit:
• Before you travel, check for Travel Advisories and Alerts for your destination(s) at
www.travel.state.gov/destination.
• Department of Health website at www.health.hawaii.gov or,
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov.
