This is a Civil Defense message.
This is a Coronavirus informational update for Monday, February 24 at 9:00 in the morning.
The following is a Department of Health Update:
• The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of Coronavirus reported in the State of
Hawaii.
• The Department of Health has no Health Advisories for the State of Hawaii at this time.
The following National travel policies are in effect:
• For travel to Japan and South Korea, the U.S. State Department and the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention have issued travel advisories for you to exercise increased caution when traveling to
these countries, where the risk for exposure to respiratory illnesses is high.
• The U.S. State Department Travel Advisory continues for U.S. Citizens prohibiting travel to China.
• Quarantine policies for U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. from China remain.
AS A REMINDER:
If you feel sick with fever, cough, or difficulty breathing:
• Call your doctor or medical provider, inform them of your symptoms and if you have traveled to areas
affected by Coronavirus.
• Avoid contact with others.
• Do not travel while sick.
• Take extra measures to keep your hands clean.
• Practice cough and sneeze etiquette (maintain distance, cover coughs and sneezes).
Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about Coronavirus. Make sure your information is up-to-
date and comes from a credible source. For more information regarding Coronavirus, visit:
• Before you travel, check for Travel Advisories and Alerts for your destination(s) at
www.travel.state.gov/destination.
• Department of Health website at www.health.hawaii.gov or,
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov.
• You may also call the Department of Health at 974-6001 or after-hours at 211.
Your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency will continue to give you daily updates and you will be notified of any
changes that may affect your safety.
