Date: March 4, 2020 Time: 12 noon Frequency: Every 3 hours Update #: 1 This is a Coronavirus informational update for Wednesday, March 4 at 12 noon. The following is a Department of Health Update: • The Department of Health reports there are NO cases of Coronavirus in the State of Hawaii. • The Department of Health has NO Health Advisories for the State of Hawaii at this time. The following National travel policies are in effect: • The Department of State "Do Not Travel" advisories for China and Iran remain in effect, "Reconsider Travel" advisories have been issued for Italy, Mongolia, and South Korea, and "Exercise Increased Caution Travel" advisories continue for Hong Kong, Japan, and Macau. • In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend you not travel to China, Iran, Italy, and South Korea. • For your information, as the coronavirus conditions change rapidly, you should verify Department of State and CDC travel and health advisories for where you are going before finalizing your travel plans. AS A REMINDER: • Good hygiene practices are the best prevention measures for coronavirus. • Remember to maintain distance and cover your cough and sneezing. • Washing your hands often and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water is good practice to follow. The Department of Health, in partnership with the County of Hawaii, federal, and other state agencies is working together in taking necessary precautions to prevent and respond to this virus. Coordinated actions to prevent and mitigate the spread of the virus are being taken. Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about Coronavirus. Make sure your information is up-to- date and comes from a credible source.
