Parks & Recreation to Open Restrooms at 8:00 a.m. Every Day after Daily
Disinfection
Effective immediately, the County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation will
open its rest rooms at 8:00 a.m., to allow for thorough daily disinfection operations at
each facility.
The rest rooms will open every morning at 8:00 a.m., instead of the customary 6:00 a.m.
“We really appreciate the hard work of our Parks Maintenance teams, to keep our
people safe and healthy,” said Roxcie Waltjen, Director of Parks and Recreation.
The disinfection covers all high-touch surfaces in the rest rooms and takes extra time,
Waltjen said. “We thank the public for their patience and understanding,” she said.
