PRESS RELEASE
OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK AND HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL - RESPONSE TO "STAY AT HOME" EMERGENCY DECLARATION
Per order of the Governor of the State of Hawaii, the Office of the County Clerk and the
Hawaii County Council will be taking substantial measures to apply social distancing and
encourage people to "stay at home", while attending to essential business in a responsible
manner.
The Office of the County Clerk, Kona Council Office, and Waimea Council Office will be
closed to the public until further notice.
Council meetings will be closed to the public but live streamed for viewing via the internet.
Written public testimony is encouraged and will be processed in a timely manner. Go to
www.hawaiicounty.gov/our-county/county-calendar to check the County's internet calendar for
notice of upcoming meetings. Click on the meeting, which will provide you access to agendas,
testimony, and the live stream.
Other operations of the office that support vital County functions will continue to do so, with
protocols, work schedules, and policies designed to maximize social distancing.
