This is a Civil Defense message.
This is a COVID-19 information update for Sunday morning, May 17th
On today's report of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for Hawaii
Island is 76. This increase of one, the first in several days, has been identified as travel
related. Individual was infected during a brief visit to California. Individual and family
are now quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health.
The Island and State of Hawaii are doing well in minimizing the spread and impact of
this virus. These positive numbers of Hawaii today reinforce the importance of and
success of following the policies of distancing, gatherings, cleanliness, face coverings,
staying at home if you are sick, and keeping yourself physically and emotionally healthy.
Thank you, people of Hawaii for who you are, a community together helping each other
during a very difficult time.
For your information there are no drive-thru testing or food drop-off scheduled for today.
