This is a COVID-19 information update for Tuesday morning, May 19.
On today’s report of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for Hawaii
Island is 78, from this 76 have been cleared as recovered with the remaining two
quarantined and monitored by the Department of Health.
For your information, drive through testing will be conducted today at the Puna Medical
Center and the Hilo Medical Center. These two medical centers provide this service
daily. Please contact them for any additional information on scheduling and
requirements.
The Island and State of Hawaii are moving forward in removing some of the restrictions
established to address the coronavirus. The State of Hawaii has done well in
minimizing the spread and impact of COVID-19 but we must be well aware that the virus
is out there. In moving forward, we need to continue to get better in following the
preventive policies of distancing, face coverings, cleanliness, gatherings, and personal
health to keep Hawaii Safe.
