Meeting: 06/04/2020 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
May 14th, 2020
Aloha chair and members of the Leeward Planning Commission,
Thank you for considering my personal testimony in support of 5G cell towers in Puna. Thank you for
your due diligence in preparing for today’s commission meeting. If you need a little help researching the
topic, I’ve provided a link below to a review of 94 peer reviewed articles on 5G safety.
Want to acknowledge a conflict of interest. I rely on the internet to do my job, learn, and prepare for
approaching disasters. The proposed towers will not service my home but they may relieve some
congestion should county workers be sent home to watch videos all day.
Your decision today will affect kids. The odd person that wants to call a loved one before they bleed out
at their home in the acres probably understood the risk better than children.
Today, post-covid access to information has become critical. Walking to a friends house for access doesn’t
always work. The government bulletin board at Aupuni Center and the coconut wireless are no longer
barely enough to get by.
Please do not ignore Section 508 and related ADA laws. We know council members can easily bully
through any legal or ethical matter because that’s just “the way it has always been done in the
administration.” But you have an opportunity to light the facts.
1.Reduce property taxes where planning has failed to consider infrastructure in neighborhoods.
2.During emergencies, drive around with a bullhorn informing citizens of danger.
Please vote yes for expanded access to information by via Use Permit No. 19- 000081-22
