This is a COVID-19 information update for Friday, June 5.
On today’s report of COVID-19, the number of active cases for Hawaii Island stands at zero. An
active case is defined as an individual who has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and is
presently being monitored by the Department of Health.
For your information, an ‘Ohana Food Service is scheduled for today in South Kohala at the
Waikoloa Elementary School in Waikoloa Village. Hours are from 10:00 this morning ‘til 12:00
noon. Thank you Hawaii Food Basket and all the contributors that make this possible for those
in need and the Hawaii National Guard and County Task Force for helping.
As the Island and State of Hawaii goes forward in reopening’s, please know the importance of
continuing to follow the policies of physical distancing, gatherings, face coverings, cleanliness,
and keeping yourself physically and emotionally healthy. In moving forward, know that the
Coronavirus threat is still out there and you need to continue to follow the preventive policies.
