The committee listened to Mr. Marote's short justification and reviewed the department's
detailed report and handouts that was distributed to the members prior to.
Mr. Marote -- The department have used many different brands of scoreboards over the course of
over 30 years and they find the Daktronics brand offers the longest service of life. They only
upgraded the console and driver board on this particular brand.
Mr. Marote — Daktronics offer excellent customer service and warranty. Haven't had any
problems; just need to go to their website and fill out some information.
Ms. Sako — Any questions?
Mr. Kamelamela — How many scoreboards are we talking about?
Mr. Marote — Every gym and ballfield on the island has different sizes of scoreboards.
Mr. Souza — The County easily has over 20 + scoreboards.
Mr. Souza - We are also looking at longevity and reliability. Our electricians are the ones we
depend on to repair the scoreboards and they have most experience with them. Other brands are
done working less than 5 years, maybe 2 to 3 years
Ms. Sako — We're not looking to replace these all one time, right?
Mr. Souza — No, we are planning the installation in phases and working on a schedule.
Mr. Hunt — Good, that was going to be my question as well.
Ms. Sako — Any other questions? None.
