Hawaii County needs working transfer stations with recycling of plastic and paper. They need to properly staffthem. They need to properly maintain them. Ocean View Transfer Station needs to be open at least three days
per week. The County needs to get creative with trash to energy programs. Compactors should be used for
recycled materials.
County beach facilities need to be better maintained. Kahaluu Beach needs a new roof on the main building andhasanotherbuildingthatneedstoberemoved.
The County should not be using herbicides anywhere.
The County should stock replacement pumps for the water system and should operate pumps in pairs that can be
run on an alternating schedule.

Members of the Long Range Planning Division will provide an overview
of the Draft General Plan and deliver brief presentations on key sections
of the plan. Attendees will participate in workshops to explore focused
sections of the draft on infrastructure and natural resources.
During the workshop attending members of the public will have an
opportunity for questions, discussion, and providing feedback on the
sections of the draft being presented.
