As I am sure Bethany has told you, I believe it is important to include the planning for land for economic drivers for our County community. An education group with which I work is putting on a conference as described below. I believe the material is important for all of America and especially applicable for our County. You may attend as my guest. I realize it is very short notice and may not be possible for this conference. More detail conferences to review the JQI collected data and discuss programs will be held in future months. I will be receiving a recording of the conference, and if you desire, I will share the recording with your team. Clarke Institute at Cornell University Law School (Cornell-Clarke), the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA), the University of Missouri – Kansas City Department of Economics (UMKC), and the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity(GISP). The JQI is a new economic indicator generated on a monthly basis. The JQI shows changes in the quality of the U.S.jobs base by tracking the relative numbers of high-wage/high-hours goods-producing (and some service)jobs, and low-wage/low-hour positions. The long term trend of increasing dominance of low-wage, low-hour jobs has resulted in low household income growth, higher income inequality and overall U.S. economic growth below its potential. 1 1- 2 91 5 2 Effectively Underemployed -Why American Workers Continue to Struggle Despite Strong Jobs Reports: Introducing The U.S. Private Sector Job Quality Index (JQI)®" will feature a presentation from the four authors.
