Subject: Against Waipio Valley Scenic Rim Drive.
Aloha,
I am a resident of Pahoa and a resident/property owner in Kalapana since 2001 and am not in favor of the proposed
Waipio Valley scenic route. Please consider the potential harm that could come to the sensitive valley ecosystems if a
road were to be put in as proposed. It is concerning to me that roads amputated in for the convenience of tourism and
the visitors to the island while the existing infrastructure, especially that of the Puna district, is insufficient to support
the amount of growth and the number of tax paying residents. Put roads in for the people who live here first. Why ndt
put a coastal road from Hilo to lower Puna instead. Please put the well-being of the kamaaina first.Thank you for
hearing my concerns.
