To The Planning Department,
Mahukona belongs to the people of Hawaii.

We moved to North Kohala in 1984. Mahukona was the place where we met the people of North Kohala.We went.
swimming, had picnics,got to know our neighbors,joined in cleaning up the area and the water close to shore. It is','
where the children learn to swim and dive and play and have fun. It would be a terrible sin to take Mahukona away from
the people of Hawaii just so some corporation can make a lot of money.
It would be a sad and terrible thing to have Mahukona looking like the ocean front area by Kawaihai with all those
fortress looking houses with giant gates.Also on the way to Kona there is a long stretch to houses with huge piles of lave
to give them privacy that not only hides the view of the ocean but tells people stay away,you don't belong here.That is
enough. Leave Mahukona alone. It belongs to the people of Hawaii, let them go in peace.
