I would like to comment on the Hawaii County Draft General Plan 2040, specifically re the Resort designatidn' t Mal
The rational would be that the North Kohala Community Development Plan calls for the purchase of foul-doasfal prosincludingthelandbetweenMahukonaandKapa'a Parks for public use with the 2% Open Space Fund:-Keep I'ohala,
Furthermore, wording in the new General Plan is so coastal friendly it would prohibit building a resort-and-gated corn
MahuKona if the owner were to apply for the designation today. Thus the map is NOT consistent witliilieDraft Plan.
