Your Message: Dear Mayor Kim..
I have lived on this island since 1975 and I have admired your service and thinking in the past, but right now, I have
concerns about your understanding of the importance of preserving land and not allowing building just anywhere.
Please know malama 'aina and support for protecting this place is beyond just the Hawaiians. I am a long term resident
who wants to see this place protected... the mauna... and now this coastline,which is very dear to me.
The North Kohala shoreline and open lands near Mahukona Harbor need to be held in trust for the people of this
district. The designation of resort must be removed to preserve this precious resource.

This coastline is still unpolluted by construction and it needs to stay that way so the local people can continue to harvest
food and enjoy the healing and peace that this coastline offers.
Our local community, spearheaded by the amazing has put many large oceanfront parcels into
conservation trust for this community. This piece must become part of the package. They are working on it.
Please do the right thing to protect this land and help Mahukona be preserved from development, which only serves the
wealthy who on it and golf there. Respect the Hawaiian belief that this land is sacred. Too many special places are now
polluted. We need to ALL honor this land, especially our leaders. PLEASE SEE THE LIGHT.
