I am writing to recommend and request a change from LDU to MDU (Medium Density Urban)for the subject TMK in the
Hawaii General Plan.
I ama resident of Discovery Harbour and a teacher at Ka'u High and Pahala Elementary School. One of the frequent
laments I hear from students and parents is that there are so few jobs in our area.. The proposed change in zoning will
better support my community and its development.This zoning change will enable the owner to proceed with their most
recent development proposal presented to the community during the CDP community meetings.Their proposal fits the
community culture and growth better than the original high rise resort development. It will provide local jobs and
resources for our community.
Again, I request that you change the subject TMK zoning from LDU to MDU in the Hawaii General Plan.
