Aloha! Hoping to get these comments in last minute from our meeting yesterday on the General Plan,
In looking at the Climate Mitigation section we identified the potential for a GHG analysis report for all projects added.to, -•
county departmental reports but also mentioned it would be good to add in all planning/permitting for the public as=well, r
with the hope that we could amend the planning code for a"Net Zero" policy that would ask for mitigation of GHG.cQtput.
Also we talked about strategies to incentivize large landowners, county, or state land to work with public/conimunify7;.,:'"
groups to reforest, ways to localize tree planting regimes near the communities involved, or other carbon drawdown
activities (Climate smart ag)as talked about by State Carbon Farming/Greenhouse Gas Sequestration task force
mandate.
