HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-07-07 Kailua Village Design Commission Agenda NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING KAILUA VILLAGE DESIGN COMMISSION COUNTY OF HAWAII NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a meeting to be held by the Kailua Village Design Commission of the County of Hawaii in accordance with the provision of Section 92-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes. Based on the Mayor' s Proclamation regarding COVID- 19, these meetings will be online until further notice. This is to prevent the spread of COVID- 19 and to maintain social distancing. DATE: July 7, 2020 TIME: 5:15 PM PLACE: Live Stream Meeting- The public will be able to view and listen to the meeting. Access to the online meeting will be provided at www.planning.hawaiicounty.gov at the time of the hearing. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC—Public participation will be limited to only written testimony via email at planning@hawaiicounty.gov or submitted at the Hilo or Kona Planning Departments up to two days prior to the hearing (See Submitting Testimony below). The application, agenda and minutes will be available for review at www.planning.hawaiicounty.gov no later than July 1, 2020. The applicant, William McCowatt, of Koa Architects LLC, is proposing design review for the mural painted on an existing trash and propane enclosure that was built and approved as part of the "The Brew Lot 12" industrial building site located at TMK: 7-4-010:018. The applicant does not propose any revisions to the industrial buildings located on the site, that received an amended Final Plan Approval on May 18, 2020 and original Plan Approval on December 9, 2016. Landowner: Queen Liliuokalani Trust(Lessee: Manini Holdings, LLC) TMK: (3) 7-4-010:018 Location: 74-5606 Pawai Place, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. 2. The applicant, Par Hawaii, is proposing sign permit for a wall sign for an existing convenience store located at the Kona Coast Shopping Center, located at TMK 7-4- 015:001. The sign would read "Nom Nom Express"with proposed maximum letter height of 7 inches. The area of the sign is 4.97 square feet would be located 88 inches above grade, measured to the top of the sign. The colors selected for the lettering are combination of a grey and a maroon color. ADJOURNMENT Submitting Testimony Due to the current requirement for online meetings for the Kailua Village Design Commission due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Planning Department is requesting the following: That a person desiring to submit written testimony shall indicate her/his name; address; and whether the testimony is on her/his behalf or as a representative of an organization or individual. If testimony is being submitted on behalf of an organization, documentation showing membership ratification should accompany the testimony. Public testimony can be submitted by mail or email. Those submitting written testimony by mail should provide eleven ( 11) copies for distribution. Public testimony submitted by mail, should be mailed to the Kailua Village Design Commission at the Planning Department office addresses in Hilo and Kona listed below. Mailed testimony should be received no later than July 2, 2020, to allow for mailing and thorough Commission review. Public testimony that is submitted by email to planning@hawaiicounty.gov, should be submitted before 4: 30 p.m. two days prior to the Commission meeting. Notice: If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawaii County Code}. A lobbyist means "any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (a) (6), Hawaii County Code.} Copies of the applications are on file and open to inspection during office hours at the Planning Department, Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3, Hilo, Hawai' i and at the Kona office of the Planning Department, West Hawai'i Civic Center, 74- 5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building E, 2nd Floor, Kailua-Kona, Hawai' i. 2 Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable modification, or language interpretation to access this meeting please contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 as soon as possible, but no later than five working days prior to the meeting date,to arrange for accommodations. "Other reasonable modification"refers to communication methods or devices for people with disabilities who are mentally and/or physically challenged.
