This is a COVID-19 informational update for Monday, July 6th
On today's update of COVID-19, the number of active cases, monitored by the
Department of Health, remains at six. An active case is defined as an individual who
has tested positive for the Coronavirus and is presently monitored by the Department of
Health.
The majority of states in our country continue to see an increase of people being
infected by the Coronavirus. Hawaii Island remains in a good place and know how
important it is for everyone to continue, and even get better, in following the preventive
policies of face coverings, distancing, gatherings, and cleanliness. This is a community
issue and your help is needed to keep Hawaii safe. Wear your face coverings to keep
you and others safe.
The County Task Force on prevention remains available, so do call Civil Defense if help
is needed. The County's Task Force on disinfection also continues its seven day -a -
week schedule.
For your information, a drive through testing is scheduled for today in North Kona at the
Keauhou Shopping Center. Hours are from 9:00 this morning `til 12:00 Noon. Thank
you Alii Health for providing this service and the Hawaii National Guard and County
Task for helping.
Thank you for listening and thank you for doing your part in keeping yourself, your
family, your friends, and your community safe.
This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency.
