Request: To Allow for a Two-Bedroom Bed and Breakfast Operation

The Windward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on April 6, 2017, reviewed
and acted on the above-referenced request to allow the establishment of a two-bedroom bed and
breakfast operation within an existing three-bedroom dwelling. The project site is situated within
the Honoli'i Pali Tract on the south side ofHonoli'i Place, about 600 feet south of the Honoli'i
Place/Pauka'a Drive intersection, Pauka'a, South Hilo, Hawai'i.
After review ofthe entire record and in concurrence with the recommendation made by the
Planning Director, the Commission voted to deny the request.
Pursuant to Rule 7-10 ofthe Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure and Section 25-2-66 of
the Hawai'i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), this decision is appealable to the Third
Circuit Court within thirty (30) days after the date of the Commission' written decision.
Denial ofthis permit is based on the reasons given in the attached Findings Report.
