tice principles into COVID-19 related recovery initiatives for Hawaii County) that
was heard at the County Council meeting on July 8. Refer to FVIC meeting

West Hawaii meetings have a conflict with our monthly meeting plans, so CSW
does not have representation there.

E. Updated 2020-2021 budget
A request was received to refine budget numbers for meals and mileage. Given
the situation with COVID, the expectation is the numbers will be lower, because
of no meetings happening in person. Farrah proposed to submit a budget for
$10,000, with reduced amounts for mileage and meals.
Mileage - $1,000. Actual for mileage this year was $819. Proposal is to reduce
mileage from 2020-2021 budget to half of the previous year's budget of $2,000.
3
Travel and conferences - $1,000
Printing - $1,000
Miscellaneous contracts - $3,500
Miscellaneous charges - $3,500. Meals are included in this category. Meal
amount would be $200.
Farrah suggested one option could be to increase the Real Women Essay con-
test budget, Mele opposed.
Andrew moved to inform Lisa $1,000 for mileage and $200 for meals for 2020-
2021 based on the new budget amounts. Seconded by Mihaela. Motion carried.
Action item: Andrew will send a spreadsheet to everyone before next month meeting to
discuss the other details of the budget.
F. Legislation
On June 4, Communication 774.12 was heard by the Hawaii County Council. It
proposed to change the operating budget for the Committee on the Status of
Women from $0 to $10,000 for next fiscal year. This item was unanimously
passed.
On July 8, Resolution 680.20 was heard by the Hawaii County Council. It sup-
ports and urges equity, inclusion, and social and economic justice principles into
COVID-19 related recovery initiatives for Hawaii County. This item was also
unanimously passed.
Several CSW members provided testimony as community members since the
CSW did not have meetings in May and June to be able to discuss these legisla-
tive testimony opportunities.
