<br />CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY Date: August 16, 2020 <br />MEDIA UPDATE Time: 08:00 AM <br />Radio Frequency: Every 2 Hours <br /> Update #: 1 <br />Incident: Coronavirus Update <br />This is a Civil Defense message. <br />th <br />This is a COVID-19 informational update for Sunday, August 16. <br />On today’s update of COVID-19, the number of active cases, on Hawaii Island, monitored by the <br />Department of Health is twenty. There are four new cases of Coronavirus on Hawaii <br />Island. These cases are now isolated and monitored by the Department of Health. At this date, <br />for Hawaii Island, no one is hospitalized. <br />Hawaii Island numbers are increasing. We need your help now, more than ever, to protect our <br />community from the virus spread. We all need to get better. People disregarding the policies of <br />gatherings, distancing and face coverings has been identified as a major cause for the increase <br />of cases in the State of Hawaii. We all need to get better. We need your help by following the <br />policies of prevention. Thank you for doing your part to keep our neighbors, friends, family and <br />community safe. <br />You are reminded that when traveling interisland the State of Hawaii is under a 14-day <br />quarantine for inter-island travel. Information on the revised inter-island quarantine exemptions <br />are available at the Civil Defense website or by calling Civil Defense at 935-0031. <br />As a reminder, do know the wearing of face masks is mandatory on the Island of Hawaii. <br />Thank you for listening, have a safe weekend. <br />This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br /> <br />
