Uri IT -3 FINVITITTANTA Radio Frequency: Every 2 Hours Update #: 1 This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday, August 18th On today's update of COVID-19, the number of active cases, on Hawaii Island, monitored by the Department of Health is twenty. There are three new cases of Coronavirus on Hawaii Island. These cases are now isolated and monitored by the Department of Health. At this date, for Hawaii Island, one person is hospitalized. Hawaii Island has seen daily increases of positive cases over the past two weeks. Most of these recent cases are not travel related which means the virus is being transmitted within the community. As other islands begin measures to slow the spread of the virus by limiting activities, we ask for your help in maintaining our beautiful lifestyle on Hawaii Island by following the preventive policies. As a reminder, outdoor gatherings are limited to 100 people and indoor gatherings are limited to 50 people. Within these groups, please continue practicing the policies of physical distancing, cleanliness, and wearing of face coverings. By following these guidelines, we can continue enjoying our parks, beaches, and time with our family, friends, and neighbors. Thank you for listening, have a safe week and be well.
