CALL TO ORDER Chair Kami Bolster called the meeting to order at 9:45am. II. ROLL CALL PRESENT EXCUSED Kami Bolster, Chair Mihaela Ryer, Vice Chair Cyd Hoffeld, ex -officio Brooke Derby, Recording Secretary Mele Spencer, Corresponding Secretary Andrew Langtry, Treasurer Farrah -Marie Gomes Diana Mellon -Lacey, Corporation Counsel III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA (October 21, 2020) Andrew motioned to approve agenda. Mele seconded. No discussion. Motion ap- proved. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (July 15, 2020) Brooke motioned to approve minutes. Mele seconded. No discussion. Motion approved. Hawai'i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer V. TREASURER'S REPORT A. Recent financials -$183.00 has been spent on printing to date. B. Our $10,000 Budget for the year is correct except the categories are off from what we as a committee approved. ACTION ITEM: Adjust budget to match cate- gories. C. ACTION ITEM: Submit a budget request to increase line items: -Travel Conference $1000 -Decrease account #1 by $ (?) account #115 by $944 account #341 by $434 Mihaela motioned to adjust budget as stated above. Brooke seconded. No discussion. Motion ap- proved. VI. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC None. VII. CORRESPONDENCE None. VIII. REPORTS A. State CSW Update • Cyd not in attendance — Kami reporting on behalf of Cyd to CSW members that the State Commission on the Status of Women is holding the state confer- ence virtually due to Covid-19 Pandemic on November 13 + 14, 2020. Kami will send more details as they become available. ACTION ITEM: Kami to remind Cyd to continue to send us information and updates on behalf of the state CSW. B. FVIC Update No update. No CSW Member attended the last meeting. IX. OLD BUSINESS A. Teen Dating Violence Kami and Mele are on the subcommittee Update on cell phone safety card distribution -Farrah has them and will mail to each CSW member for distribution. ACTION ITEM: Farrah mail cell phone safety cards to CSW members. 2 B. Real Women Essay Contest ' Farrah, Kami, Mele are on the subcommittee In the past we would send out letters to the schools for the essay contest in September. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic and schools being on distant learning this has not happened. We need to be sensitive to teachers during this time. The committee decided to put a sub -committee together to discuss doing an alternative to the Essay Contest this year by putting a campaign out to women during the pandemic. Sub -committee is Farrah, Kami, Brooke + Mele. They will meet to discuss next steps. ACTION ITEM: Farrah send Chair Kami the timeline on past essay contest for her records. Farrah schedule meeting with sub -committee before next meeting. C. CSW Brochure • There has been no distribution due to no events/outreach during Covid-19 Pan- demic. Farrah has copies and will send to committee members who need. • ACTION ITEM: Farrah will meet up or mail CSW brochures to each com- mittee member who needs more. E. Family Services Directory Distribution of 30 made by Kami. Distributed 700 around the UH Campus. Farrah will pickup the printed ones from the County to distribute to each commit- tee member for distribution within the community. ACTION item: follow up with Allan to get Distribution Tracking Log. CSW Member contact Farrah and let her know how many you need and she will mail them to you. F. Human Trafficking Sub -committee had no update to report. G. Equal Pay Sub -Committee had no update to report. The sub -committee will meet to discuss doing a 2021 campaign(Radio +Print Ads) to bring awareness to Equal Pay. H. Status of Women Report Sub -Committee Update Mihaela and Farrah are on the sub -committee. No update to report. Still researching and gather- ing data. 3 X. NEW BUSINESS A. Girls Who Code - no update to report. B. New member(s)- we have not heard from the Mayor's office about applications. Kami knows about one applicant - Susan Zaw who should have applied. XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS (relating to CSW)- None. XII. ADJOURNMENT Mele motioned to adjourn, Mihaela, seconded. Meeting adjourned at 11:27am. Next Meeting: November in Honokaa at NHERC.
