CALL TO ORDER Chair Kami Bolster called the meeting to order at 9:35am. II. ROLL CALL PRESENT EXCUSED Kami Bolster, Chair Mihaela Ryer, Vice Chair Cyd Hoffeld, ex -officio Brooke Derby, Recording Secretary Mele Spencer, Corresponding Secretary Andrew Langtry, Treasurer Farrah -Marie Gomes Diana Mellon -Lacey, Corporation Counsel III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA (October 21, 2020) Mihaela motioned to approve agenda. Andy seconded. No discussion. Motion ap- proved. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (July 15, 2020) Andy motioned to approve minutes. Brooke seconded. No discussion. Motion approved. Hawai'i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer V. TREASURER'S REPORT A. Adjust Treasurer's Report to reflect correct numbers from Andy. -Travel Conference $1000 -Decrease account #112 by $ account #115 by $944 account #341 by $434 B. Kami will update the Budget Narrative with 3 items under Program Highlights. Mihaela motioned to adjust 2020-2021 budget as stated above. Brooke seconded. No discussion. Motion approved. VI. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC None. VII. CORRESPONDENCE None. VIII. REPORTS A. State CSW Update • Cyd not in attendance — Report received from Cyd. Chair, Kami will forward report to committee members. • State CSW Conference for 2020 has been cancelled. Tentatively re -scheduled for November 2021. • Update on Legislative Training-Mele + Farrah attended the recent Legislative Training. Mele reported it was intense training ad that writing Legislation re- quires a lot of policy action. Mele saved copies of the Power Point presenta- tion used for training and will forward to members. ACTION ITEM: Kami forward Cyd's HSCSW Report to members. Mele forward Power Point Presentation to committee members. B. FVIC Update No update. No CSW Member attended the last meeting. IX. OLD BUSINESS A. Teen Dating Violence • No Cell Phone Cards have been distributed. 2 Mele suggested sending Cell Phone Cards to all Hawai'i Island Schools (71 Schools total) with a letter to the Principal's asking them to distribute to students. Mele will update letter and be the point of contact for the project. Farrah will get the addresses of each school and send them out. Will start will Middle School and then on to Highschool for distribution. 25-50 cards distributed to each school. Sub -Committee Members: Kami + Mele. ACTION ITEM: Mele update letter to send to schools. Farrah Mail letters and Cell Phone Safety cards to schools. Mele motioned to mail the letter and cards to Hawai'i Island Middle and Highschool. Farrah sec- onded. No discussion. Motion carried B. Real Women Essay Contest The sub -committee got together to discuss doing the alternative to the Essay Contest this year by putting a campaign out to women during the pandemic. Sub -committee provided Project Rationale to members. Discussed the title of the campaign. The Sub -committee suggested "Women Developing Grit" or "Gratitude, Grace + Grit." The Committee chose "Gratitude, Grace + Grit." Sub -Committee Members: Brooke, Farrah, Kami, + Mele. ACTION ITEM: Sub -Committee set up next meeting before December meeting. Brooke motioned to approve the title, "Gratitude, Grace + Grit." Mele seconded. No discussion. Motion carried. C. CSW Brochure • There has been no distribution due to no events/outreach during Covid-19 Pan- demic. Will update in January 2021. Sub -Committee Members: Brooke, Farrah, Mihaela E. Family Services Directory No update to report. Sub -Committee Members: Farrah, Mihaela F. Human Trafficking Sub -committee had no update to report. Sub -Committee Members: Brooke. Mihaela, Cyd G. Equal Pay Sub -Committee had no update to report. The sub -committee will meet to discuss doing a 2021 campaign(Radio +Print Ads) to bring awareness to Equal Pay. 3 Sub -Committee Members: Brooke, Farrah, Andy. ACTION ITEM: Sub- committee reach out to Cyd about parenting with CSW for the cam- paign. H. Status of Women Report Sub -Committee Update- No additional data was gathered. Mihaela will put together a report with what she has gathered so far. • Sub -Committee Members: Mihaela, Farah. ACTION ITEM: Mihaela pre- pare + distribute report to members. X. NEW BUSINESS A. Girls Who Code - no update to report. B. New member(s)- Kamm has communicated with Lisa and Allen about new mem- bers and has not received a response. Susan Saw withdrew her application. C. New Mayor -Invite the new Mayor to attend one of our CSW Meetings and let him know our priorities. ACTION ITEM: Kami invite Mayor Mitch Roth to attend an up- coming CSW Meeting. XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS (relating to CSW)- None. XII. ADJOURNMENT Mele motioned to adjourn, Mihaela, seconded. Meeting adjourned at 11:45 am. Next Meeting: Wednesday December, 16, 2020.
