1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice -Chair Mihaela Ryer called the meeting to order at 9:39am.

III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA (January 20, 202 1)
Brooke motioned to approve agenda. Farrah seconded. No discussion. Motion ap-
proved.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (December 16, 2020) Farrah motioned to approve min-
utes. Brooke seconded. Discussion ensued: Farrah thanked Mele for taking the min-
utes in Brooke's absence. Also noted to edit the minutes on Page 3, Item #10 to add
Matapuna's last name to be consistent. Motion approved with edits.
V. TREASURER'S REPORT
A. Andrew reported there were no expenditures through November and nothing has
changed since the last report. Matapuna motioned to approve the Treasure's Re-
port. Farrah seconded. Motion approved.
VI. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
None.
VII. CORRESPONDENCE
None.
VIII. REPORTS
A. State CSW Update
• Cyd not in attendance — Report received from Cyd. Allen forwarded the report
to committee members.
• The Committee would like to be updated on the State's Covid-19 + Women
Report. Find out if the report is statewide or just Oahu.
• The Committee would like to know more about the missing and murdered in-
digenous women and girls (MMIWG) event on Maui on May 5, 2021 and
would like to know how HI Island CSW could participate or what an event on
our island would look like. ACTION ITEM: Mihaela to ask Cyd to keep
CSW Committee updated on Covid Report and to send more details
about the report. Also to provide more info on MMIWG event participa-
tion.
B. FVIC Update
• Kona Meeting same day as CSW Meeting 1/20/21. Hilo Meeting was on
1/4/21. Evelyn attended and did a presentation on the Liliuokalani Trust so
they could learn what they do and could be a good resource for FVIC. Eve-
lyn does attend the FVIC meetings as she has been involved with FVIC
since 2005.
• Farrah, Evelyn, and Puna will attend next months FVIC meeting.

• Farrah suggested we create a FVIC Sub Committee to comply with Sun-
shine laws. ACTION ITEM: Chair to add Forming FVIC Sub -Commit-
tee to February Agenda.
IX. OLD BUSINESS
A. Teen Dating Violence
Mele sent information to Kami and she sent to Allen.
B. Real Women Essay Contest
The sub -committee has not met since the last meeting. Mele drafted a
Project Rationale but the Sub -Committee still needs to discuss it. Sub -
Committee will set up a meeting time at the conclusion of today's meeting.
ACTION ITEM: Sub -Committee set up next meeting before February
meeting.
C. CSW Brochure
Mihaela updated the CSW Brochure and sent the pdf to Allen. We need to verify
the stats on the brochure to accurately match 2021:
-Women Owned Firms
-UH Total Fall Enrollment: Per Farrah: 2,014/3,165 = 63.6%
-Add Hawaii CC Fall Enrollment: 1,441/2,430 = 59.3%
Mele moved to approve the edits on the brochure. Brooke seconded. Motion approved.
ACTION ITEM: Dianna to research if CSW Committee can have a Website/Landing Page
and/or a Social Media Page to put on the brochure as a means of getting out information
and contact info.
E. Family Services Directory
Farrah distributed 50 to new students at UH Spring Orientation
Farrah will mail out 100 hard copies to new CSW Members (Evelyn, Matapuna
and Shana)
Mele keeps the master distribution list updated.
ACTION ITEM: Mele to follow up with Allen to get his distribution numbers to have the
updated log ready for February meeting. Committee would like to request the log be in-
cluded in the monthly meeting info.
F. Human Trafficking
Sub -committee had no update to report.
Evelyn did a Human Trafficking Presentation on 1/11/21. 47 people at-
tended including Bert Naihe. Talked about Runaways on Hawaii Island
and Human Trafficking on the Island.

The Committee would like to know more statistics about Human Traffick-
ing on Hawaii Island. Would like to know the actual numbers on run-
aways, trafficking victims, returned, found, repeat offenders, missing, etc.
Suggested that the HPD and the Prosecuting Attorney's office could help
in gather these figures.
G. Equal Pay
Sub -Committee had no update to report. The sub -committee will meet to
discuss doing a 2021 campaign (Radio +Print Ads) to bring awareness to
Equal Pay.
H. Status of Women Report
Sub -Committee Update- Farrah sent a google doc link for Committee Mem-
bers to provide feedback on the report. ACTION ITEM: Committee
please review the report and your thoughts and comments in the google
doe.
X. NEW BUSINESS
A. Sub -committee assignments for new members- New Members joined Sub -
Committee's. Created Out Reach Sub -Committee. Mele will send updated spreadsheet with each
Sub -Committee members ACTION ITEM: Each Sub -Committee needs to submit 1 or 2 sen-
tences describing said committee to Mele.
B. Ma'i Movement- CSW members discussed doing a Drive on Hawaii Island for
feminine products. (See Cyd's handout for reference). Suggested we start small and partner with
UH Hilo, YWCA, etc. ACTION ITEM: Farah will start the conversation with UH Hilo and re-
port back at next meeting. Mihaela will start the conversation with YWCA and report back at
next meeting.
XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS (relating to CSW)- None.
XII. ADJOURNMENT
Farrah motioned to adjourn meeting. Brooke seconded. Meeting adjourned at 11:37 am.
Next Meeting: Wednesday February 17, 2021.
