Hilo, HI 96720 Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 AGENDA NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVIEN of the following matters to be considered by the Game Management Advisory Commission of the County of Hawai’i in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, Hawai’i Revised Statutes, Section 6- 7.5(a) of the Charter of the County of Hawai’i, and the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. Pursuant to Governor Ige’s most recent proclamation, in order to minimize physical contact and maximize social distancing, this meeting will not be open to the public. DATE: Tuesday, February 23, 2021 TIME: 6:30 – 8:30 PM PLACE: This meeting will be held by interactive video conference through WebEx. The public may provide oral testimony at the meeting by joining online or calling into the WebEx meeting. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS:  Statements from the public will be taken throughout the meeting. 5. PRESENTATIONS: a. Maurice Messina, Director of Parks and Recreation will provide an update on COVID procedures at the Trap Range. b. Richard Hoeflinger of the “On Target” gun club will speak on related topics. c. Ian Cole, East Hawai’i DOFAW Wildlife Biologist will discuss State shooting range development issues. d. Darren Ogura of the DLNR Hunter Education program will speak on Phase 2 of the Mile Maker 16 range development, and the acquisition of funding. e. Mike Donnelly, Pohakuloa Training Area Public Affairs Officer will talk of possible public availability of a PTA shooting range. f. Todd Yukutake of Hawai’i Firearms Coalition Legislative report. 6. OLD BUSINESS: a. Commissioner vote on an advisory letter from GMAC regarding the DLNR Mauna Kea eradication agenda. 7. NEW BUSINESS: a. Executive Session: The Game Management Advisory Commission anticipates it may convene in one or more executive sessions regarding the above matters listed on the agenda, pursuant to HRS Sections 92-4 and 92-5 (a)(4), for the purpose of consulting with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the Commission’s powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities. A 2/3 vote pursuant to HRS Section 92-4 is necessary to hold an executive session. Anyone wishing to discuss an item that does not appear on the agenda should call the commission secretary at 323-4444 or email Barbara.Kossow@hawaiicounty.gov to have the subject placed on the next available agenda.
