Aloha committee members,
Please ask Planning Director Zendo Kern how it is legal to delay filling positions on Community
Development Plan (CDP)Action Committees (ACs).
The law says "...CDP action committee shall consist of nine members...The members shall be appointed
by the mayor and approved by the County council. " (Hawai'i County Code, Section 16-5 (a)
The law says "shall". So the mayor must ensure that all ACs have nine members—not delay
appointments.
