Selected individuals who were knowledgeable about current and past site operations were interviewed. The following is a brief summary of the information obtained about the target property. 5.1 Interviews with Owners, Occupants, and Others Knowledgeable of the Target Property BC contacted Ms. Brenda Iokepa-Moses with Ka’u Realty regarding current and past uses of the target property. Ms. Iokepa-Moses has been familiar with the target property since 1996. Ms. Iokepa-Moses stated that she is unaware of any issues that would impact the environmental integrity of this project. To the best of her knowledge, the target property has historically been used as open pasture for cattle and livestock. The eastern adjacent property has historically been used as a cattle ranching operation but is now abandoned. BC also contacted Mr. John Cross with Ka’u Valley Farm regarding current and past uses of the target property. Mr. Cross owns the northern adjacent land to the target property beyond Hawaii Belt Road and has been familiar with the target property since 1992. Mr. Cross stated that he was unaware of any issues that would impact the environmental integrity of this project. To the best of his knowledge, the target property has historically been used as open pasture land for cattle and livestock. The results of these interviews identified no RECs or environmental risks regarding current or past operations at the target property.
