MAKE NON-SUBSTANTIVE HOUSEKEEPING RULES CHANGES TO THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII PLANNING DEPARTMENT RULES OF PRACTICE AND
PROCEDURE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of public hearing for the proposed changes to the
Planning Department Rules of Practice and Procedure to enable the electronic submission and
make non-substantive housekeeping rules changes, which is initiated by the Planning Director,
pursuant to Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) and Planning Department Rule 2.
DATE: Monday, July 26, 2021
TIME: 9:00 AM
PLACE: This meeting will be held by interactive video conference via Zoom.
The public may provide oral testimony at the meeting by joining online or calling
into the Zoom meeting. To register for access to the Zoom meeting please contact
Rachelle Ley at Rachelle.Ley@hawaiicounty.gov or 961-8125 no later than 4:30
p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

The proposed rulemaking to the County of Hawaii Planning Department’s Rules of
Practice and Procedure is to enable the electronic submission and processing of applications
which are submitted to the Planning Department of the County of Hawaiʻi and its Planning
Director and make non-substantive housekeeping rules changes.
The purpose of the public hearing is to afford all interested persons a reasonable
opportunity to provide comments on the proposed changes to the rules. Comments may be
presented orally at the public hearing or submitted in writing electronically to the Planning
Department via email at planning@hawaiicounty.gov.
Copies of the proposed changes are on file and open to inspection during office hours at
the Planning Department, Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3, Hilo, Hawaiʻi and at the
Kona office of the Planning Department, West Hawaiʻi Civic Center, 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole
Highway, Building E, 2nd Floor, Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi. Additionally, Planning Department
Rules can be found on-line at:

Any person requiring special assistance or auxiliary aid and/or services to participate in
the hearing should contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 three (3) working days prior to
the hearing so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
