CALL TO ORDER Mihaela Ryer called the meeting to order at 9:33 am

III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Brooke motioned and Mele seconded the motion to approve the agenda.
Motion approved.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Brooke motioned and Mele seconded the motion to approve the July 21, 2021
minutes. Motion approved.
V. TREASURER'S REPORT
Andrew reported he received expenditure reports for the FY and we are up to
date. He reported no expenditures for April and May. In June, $6,750 was
spent on gift cards for the Equal Pay and Essay contests. As of the last FY,
$3,067 was left in the budget. There are no July expenditures to report for the
new FY.
Puna motioned and Brooke seconded the motion to approve the Treasurer's
Report. Motion approved.
Discussion: Mihaela recommended that CSW members plan ahead to submit
requests to fund projects due to delays in expenditure approvals.

VII. CORRESPONDENCE
None.
Vill. REPORTS
A. HSCSW liaison report
• Cyd reported she was voted in as the new chair for HSCSW which is a
2-year term. Preparing for the 2022 Legislative Session. Gender impact
assessment report on the impact of the Feminist Economic Recovery Plan
for COVID-19. Ma`i Movement donations event- looking for outdoor
venues.
• Mihaela reported she attended the August mtg w/ HSCSW and committee
chairs from all counties. Kauai shared their Feminist Recovery Report.
8/19 mtg. for the MMNHWG Task Force.
• Cyd shared that HSCSW can provide funds if there are delays in
expenditure approvals.
B. Family Violence Interagency Committee (FVIC)
None.
IX. OLD BUSINESS
A. Subcommittees
a. Mihaela shared a word cloud she created based on HC CSW
bylaws to define our values, purpose. She will go through individual
subcommittees to f/u on.
b. Communications - Mihaela
i. New CSW brochures will be ready by Sept. 2021
ii. Family Services Directory - updated version will be published
Oct 2021
• Farrah asked if you submitted info to check if it was
captured accurately. Suggested including info on
CSW in the blank space.
• Mihaela motioned to include the mission statement in
the services directory.
• Farrah moved to amend the motion to include any
edits within the next 2 weeks.
• Mihaela motioned to approve the service directory to
include any edits from the committee and CSW
mission statement. Farrah seconded. Motion
approved.
iii. Social media presence -Allen emailed social media
guidelines. Mihaela confirmed that the HC CSW can have a
FB page.

meant for storage of internal docs, but for materials shared
to the community
v. Brooke offered to set up a FB page and social media
guidelines.
vi. Mihaela motioned for the subcommittee to set up rules,
procedures, and FB page before the September mtg. Brooke
seconded. Motion approved
c. Outreach - Shana
i. Shana proposed the following subcommittee goals:
• Support mission of CSW
• Provide direct services to women of county
• Be resources to women of county
• Raise awareness in collab w/ Communications
• Provide education and volunteer opportunities for
Current Projects
• Teen Dating Violence
• Real Women Essay
• Ma'i Movement
No report.
iii. Proposal
• Draft resolution to designate 2022 as Year of the
Mother. "Malama Makuahine"
o Mihaela requested to expand the definition of
,'mother" to "parent" to be more inclusive.
Kahea requested that we include formerly
incarcerated women.
d. Research - Puna
i. Puna asked where data and research is currently stored
ii. Shana said she would share the HT event survey and results
iii. Diana shared that the County has a research and
development dept. and she was willing to connect the
subcommittee w/ them. Puna to follow up and get updated
data for current status of women report.
iv. Shana recommended that we include new census data.
e. Legislative & Advocacy - Mihaela
i. Subcommittee will come up w/ legislative ideas and identify
partners. Diana recommended utilizing Cyd for resources on
drafting bills
ii. Human Trafficking
July 30th Recent event had 70 participants. Mayor, Sen.
Ocasio, Councilwoman Kierkowitz all spoke.
iii. Equal Pay
No report.

Brooke motioned and Puna seconded adjournment. The motion passed and the
meeting was adjourned at 11:29 am.
